Radislava (Dada) Vujasinović was born on February 10, 1964. in Čapljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina). In her early years, she lived in Split (Croatia) and Skopje (North Macedonia). From 1967. she lived in Belgrade (Serbia).
Throughout elementary and high school Dada showed many talents. She liked sports, music, literature, and painting. She was into rhythmic gymnastics, played piano, and was good at painting and writing. She received awards and recognitions for her academic achievements, as well as for extracurricular activities.
Dada enrolled Faculty of Philology (University of Belgrade) where she studied Yugoslavian Literature and Serbo-Croatian Language. Soon after graduation, in 1987. she started a career in journalism in the newspaper “Privredni Pregled” (Economy Review). In 1989. she became a contributor to the magazine “Duga” (Rainbow), and in 1990. she became permanently employed there. For war reporting from the front lines in Croatia in 1991. she received a prestigious award for journalism “Svetozar Marković”, and for her investigative articles about connections between criminals, police, and politicians she had been persecuted and threatened. Soon it became apparent that her style of writing was not aligned with the official narrative. Despite recent claims from some of her former colleagues that she was exposing herself to an unnecessary risk, the truth was quite different. Dada Vujasinović considered it to be her human and professional duty to write about events she witnessed. She remained objective and she never allowed any propaganda to colour her writing. She did that until the time of her death on April 8, 1994.
